In a recent seminar Xia Geng, mayor of Qingdao, stressed that construction companies and related governmental departments should step up coordination, to increase and ensure the successful implementation of key infrastructure construction projects

　　After visiting the Municipal Hospital Eastern Branch, Qingdao Theatre, and some sports facilities Xia Geng attended the on-the-spot meeting, helping to solve problems and difficulties encountered during construction. Mr. Xia reiterated that related administrative departments should work more efficiently and strengthen coordination with the construction companies, while the construction companies should ensure the quality and the successful implementation of those projects.

　　In a railway transportation conference Xia Geng addressed the Qingdao to Jinan railway lines upgrading project and the rebuilding of the Qingdo Railway Station.

　　He stressed that the upgrading of the Qingdao to Jinan railway line is part of the national effort on improving the efficiency of railway lines. The new line project will propel the economic development in Qingdao. It includes the rebuilding of the Qingdao Railway Station and should meet the requirements of the 2008 Olympics and serve the traffic and the economic development in Qingdao. All participating sectors should enhance coordination and ensure its successful implementation.
